ThePapersnakes are St. Albans songwriting duo Paul Kerr (guitar) and Chris Ward (bass), creating original music that blends modern rock, funk and reggae. Bold guitar parts, memorable basslines and polished production shape a sound with plenty of energy, balanced by the quieter moments of their longstanding “light and shade” approach.
First brought together by competing for the CD player at house parties, Paul and Chris have been writing together since 2007. They record and produce their music in their own 2Snakes studio, with releases on streaming platforms and a successful Kickstarter campaign supporting their first vinyl release, Volume One.
During 2026, the duo have stepped back from regular live performances to focus on new original material and explore contemporary audio, visual and video technology—expanding both their sound and the ways they present their music.
